Utricular cyst: a cause of recurrent urinary tract infection.

The case of a 21-year-old man suffering from recurrent urinary tract infections due to a contaminated utricular cyst is presented. The patient was cured by transrectal puncture of the cyst. Especially in younger patients, initial conservative therapy is advisable. To exclude prostatic cysts as a possible cause, evaluation of recurrent urinary tract infections in men should include diagnostic imaging of the prostate.
