Deck Construction Strategies for Magic: The Gathering

The aim of this work is to provide a mathematical viewpoint for the deck construction strategies used in the classical game named Magic: The Gathering. To play a game of Magic, a player needs a deck ready for that matter. Beginners typically start with only a starter deck of fourty cards, but over time, by losing game after game, more cards are added to the player's stock through purchases or trading with other players. Therefore, any player end up with a, more or less, large stock of cards and the dilemma to choose how to build the best possible deck. We introduce several new ideas that can be used as guidelines for the deck building process. [ DOI : 10.1685 / CSC06077] About DOI
