Thermal design scheme of FOG based on thermal insulation technology

The fiber coil of Fiber-optic gyroscope (FOG) is very sensitive to the temperature, temperature variation would cause the variation of bias drift and scale factor of FOG which has seriously limited the application of FOG in engineering. This article proposes a structural design scheme, by the method of thermal insulation technology, to reduce the influence of environmental temperature. Then taking thermodynamics simulation to this structure which proves that this scheme can provide a more gentle thermal environment to the fiber coil. Temperature experiment was taken on the FOG in this structure, and the experimental result showed that the structure design method could suppress the temperature drift of FOG effectively.
