Low cost 2.4 GHz switched-beam antenna

This paper reports a new design for switched-beam antenna at 2.4 GHz. This single octagonal-shape antenna is allowed to have eight different beam-patterns which can be controlled by shorted circuit at different edges. The prototype is constructed and tested to demonstrate its beam steering capability. At the end of this paper, simulation and measured results are compared to confirm performance of proposed antenna.
