Breeding Biology of Red-billed Chough Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax in Brittany (France). The breeding biology of Red-billed Chough breeding in Ouessant is summarised (breeding phenology, parental care, breeding success and site fidelity) in order to establish a monitoring program of the population. Although the species has high heritage value, has a patchy distribution and is highly vulnerable, Chough populations are rarely monitored through a standardised protocol. Nonetheless monitoring population size and productivity is a key element in elaborating appropriate management measures favourable for the species. A proposed monitoring protocol, including 4 visits at key moments during reproduction is proposed, it aims at optimising prospecting work.
