User-oriented cross-layer architecture in cognitive networks

Research of the cognitive network is a hotspot problem in telecommunication field. In this paper, we proposed user-orientated cross-layer architecture in cognitive network where the user's experience is with great consideration. In order to guarantee the use's experience of the service, we propose a novel model to evaluate the users' quality of experience (QoE) which is related to the parameters of quality of service (QoS) and the users' behavior model. Since the network is user-oriented, different users should have the distinguishing cross-layer algorithms and the cross-layer algorithm should also be dynamic to adapt the diverse environment. So we introduce the concept of dynamic cross-layer design to this architecture in order to enable a dynamic adjustment to the cross-layer algorithm according to the users' QoE.
