Hazard Management and the School Curriculum: The Decade So Far in Schools

The Australian Committee for the IDNDR first highlighted the need for curriculum mapping exercise of the States and Territories geography and social studies curricula to identify the potential for teaching about hazards and disasters. At the same time it is observed that all education systems of Australia operates some level of school-based curriculum development that enables teaching and learning about hazards and disasters incorporated at both junior and senior secondary school levels.
