Reflections on practice as research: the university, the artist, the research endeavour

This paper presents some reflections on practice as research (PaR) in the performing arts which were stimulated by a one day symposium held at the University of Cambridge. The paper touches on the context for PaR and the work done by associate artists from ResCen (Centre for Research into Creation in the Performing Arts) at Middlesex University as well as noting the contribution of PARIP (Practice as Research in Performance) at the University of Bristol.
