The model described in this report is applied to a study area divided into a number of zones. A set of external zones is included to ensure closure of the spatial systems. A number of disaggregations are used in the model. The use of the model is illustrated by examining the effects of changes in the monetary cost of travel on travel patterns and the location of jobs, housing and population and seeing to what extent the travel patterns themselves are influenced by the relocation of homes and jobs. It is found, for example, that the relocation of homes and jobs in response to changes in travel costs always works in such a way as to increase the use of car and reduce that for public transport.-from TRRL
