A Super-SAD matching criterion and its fast algorithm

A matching criterion and its fast algorithm for block-matching motion estimation based on the statistic distribution of DCT AC coefficients is proposed. Experimental results show that the new matching criterion performs better than SAD, especially for frames with luminance change. This criterion is multiplication intensive, but the fast algorithm can reduce multiplication count by about 80%.
