Women in Mixed Groups

(Holmes and Jorgensen, 1971; Dan and Beekman, 1972; Harris, 1972; Thorne and Henley, 1975). Also it is common for investigators to place males in groups with males only and females in groups with females only (Wall, 1976; Hattes and Kahn, 1974; Eagly, 1970; Allen and Crutchfield, 1963; Hollander, Julian, and Harland, 1965; Exline, 1962). With increasing consciousness of the necessity of seeing women as persons entitled to equality with men, patronizing directions (Hoffman and Maier, 1966) and explanations of results (Lindskild et al., 1974) will probably be less utilized in the future.
