The research and design of transmission system of real-time locomotive's operation information based on GPS

This paper suggests a design of transmission system of real-time locomotive's operation information based on GPS with train dispatching radio communication system and railway packet switched networks. Differential GPS is adopted to locate locomotives accurately,as well as data-voice synchronous communication system is used to transfer locomotives' real-time operating information. Ground computers can receive the information through the railway packet switched networks. The transmission system consists of three subsystem: GPS locomotive location subsystem, Data-voice synchronous wireless dispatching communication subsystem, Ground data transmission subsystem.
