내부 요소 연결 매개법을 이용한 냉각핀의 위상 최적 설계

The topology optimization of cooling fins is carried out. Though the topology design method has been successful in structural problems, serious numerical difficulties such as non-physical temperature undershooting have been often observed in its applications to thermal problems. In this investigation, a new method called the element connectivity parameterizing topology optimization method is proposed where all important phenomena such as conduction, surface convection and side convection are taken into account. It was difficult to deal with side convection with conventional approaches. Several cooling fin design problems were considered to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
