Is ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase present in guard cell chloroplasts

Evidence for and against the presence of ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (EC 4.1.1.39) in guard cell chloroplasts is presented. Methods to investigate this question, including immunocytochemistry, are compared.
