Manufacturing systems simulation using DSSL

Abstract This paper describes the concepts and techniques employed in the simulation of manufacturing systems when DSSL (Dynamic Systems Simulation Language) is used. DSSL is an advanced new Fortan based simulation language with a well-defined modelling strategy, incorporating many special purpose modules that suit the modelling of manufacturing systems and policies. The modelling features of DSSL are outlined with the aid of a simple case study and an example of an industrial application.
