Estimation of the number of brain sources using two system identification methods

Abstract The goal of source localization in the brain is to estimate a set of parameters that can represent the characteristics of the source. One of the parameters is the source number. In order to determine the dipole number with an EEG topography, we use two system identification methods, e.g., the information criterion and F -test methods. Some investigations are presented here to show that the information criterion method is an advanced approach for determining the dipole number with an EEG topography.
