Research of Image Segmentation and Test of Image Samples

Image segmentation is the most elementary and the most important technique in the field of image processing.It is an indispensable tache of any understanding system and dynamic object recognition system.Its purpose is to segment the image space into several significative regions.Mainly introduces two methods of image segmentation in detail.One is an edge-detection-based method,the other is region-growing-based method.Also a new algorithm of region growing is put forward.Some testing on image samples using these two methods are done,and the result of experiments is very perfect.
