GREEN-EXTENSION SYSTEMS AT HIGH-SPEED INTERSECTIONS

The paper presents a review of the literature on the analyses of use of green-extension systems installed to decrease the number of rear-end and right-angle collisions. These systems include presence-detection loops in the pavement preceding the intersection which transmits messages to a receiver in the signal control box.
