Due to the asymmetric characteristics of microgrid and the complexity and variety of distributed generation(DG) units,the traditional power flow methods can not apply to the microgrid.Based on the analysis of power flow models of DG units integrated with pulse width modulation(PWM) converters,different approaches to deal with various control strategies of converters were proposed in power flow calculation.Considering the asymmetric characteristics of microgrid,an AC-DC hybrid power flow algorithm was proposed.The test results show that DG units’ steady-state characteristics can be reasonably reflected through the proposed algorithm,which so will apply to the power flow analysis for microgrid or distribution system integrated with DG units.
