A Study on the Effects of Lesions on CA3b in Hippocampus

Hippocampus is a region in the mammalian brain largely responsible for short term memory and spatial navigation. In this paper we present a model to simulate a part of hippocampus called CA3b. We show that our model is capable of producing waveforms in Theta rhythm range. Then, we introduce two types of lesions in the structure and analyze their effect on the collective behavior of neurons in CA3b.
