Statistical collocation analysis is an important instrument of lexicological investigation.This paper discusses the fundamental linguistic theories,statistical basics,and computation methods of statistical collocation analysis.Moreover, this paper introduces uncomplicated yet very efficient software solution—the analysis of data output from basic corpus tools implemented in the widely used spreadsheet software Excel.
