Evaluation of converter topologies and controllers for power quality compensators under unbalanced conditions

This paper offers a clear arrangement of various control and topology options for active power filter operation under unbalanced conditions. This includes a fourth-phase arm topology which is used together with a flexible DSP controller to obtain compensation for various power quality problems, including dynamic voltage regulation and harmonic compensation. Typical control issues and limitations are also discussed.
