Using a multimode fiber as a high-resolution, low-loss spectrometer

We demonstrate that a multi-mode fiber can operate as a high-resolution spectrometer after calibrating the wavelength-dependent speckle patterns. A 20m fiber provides 8pm resolution and a 2cm fiber enables broadband operation covering the visible spectrum.
