Evaluating potential Business Models for innovative Product Service Systems : Transparency regarding the relation to existing business

Product-Service-Systems (PSS) could be an important source of revenues for many enterprises. However, they are not automatically beneficial for the enterprises that provide them. Rather there has to be an appropriate Business Model that produces the planned benefits and does not have a negative impact on the Business Models of existing products and services. The objective of this paper it to support enterprises that are aiming at new, innovative PSS by providing them with a method to analyze the relations between new and existing Business Models and to derive strategic options to handle these relations. The developed method was initially tested at a use-case.
