Implantación de un Campus Virtual de Grandes Dimensiones: el Campus Virtual de la UCM

The utility of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs)has promoted the successof virtual campuses. This success has increased the number and complexity of virtual campuses worldwide. The Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) is a big university with a fragmented organizational model, and with a heterogeneous acceptance degree of ICTs.The fast and wide use of the UCM Virtual Campus in the academic activity of the university is a sign of the success of the model of virtual campus implemented. This paper describes this model, the results of its implementationand the contributions with respect to other models.
