A new ZC-ZVS forward converter

This paper presents a steady-state analysis with complete characterization of ZCS-ZVS forward power converter operation. The nondissipative snubber associated with a forward power converter provides the soft commutation switching. The proposed approach allows building a converter with high frequency operation. A detailed analysis of the operation is presented. The output voltage is controlled by PWM with constant frequency. The complete operating principles, theoretical analysis, relevant equations, simulation results and the experimental results are presented.
