Erstellung und Einsatz eines Programms zur Reststoffverfolgung und -dokumentation

Plans for demolition of the Mulheim-Karlich nuclear power station included provisions about the tasks arising in the disassembly of systems and components, which were laid down in plant regulations and work instructions. Disassembly work is based on a set of procedures defining the process steps for planning and execution of disassembly as well as the involvement of expert consultants and authorities. Planning and controlling decommissioning and disassembly is handled by means of the KISS (maintenance orders and safeguarding measures) data processing system. No suitable IT system was available for planning and execution of residues treatment plus the necessary logistics and tracing of residues. Analyses of the software available commercially showed existing systems to be insufficient in covering the problems at hand. For this reason, bids were invited, and a contract for establishing the program was subsequently awarded to NIS, a division of Nukem Technologies GmbH. The article presents the requirements to be met by the program ordered, and the experience accumulated in its use.
