Modeling Discrete UWB Indoor Multi-path Channel

Based on IEEE 802.15.3a UWB indoor multi-path channel model, the discrete time model was derived and PDF of model's parameters was got through statistical analysis. The result shows that, amplitude of each multi-path, except for the first one, follows Gamma distribution, with its mean value and standard variation decay exponentially with multi-path delay. And the first arrived multi-path, its amplitude, converted to a dB scale, follows Nakagami-m distribution. The discrete multi-path channel model is tractable for theoretical performance analysis and quantification of channel capacity.
