High-ratio Electro-optical Data Compression for Massive Accessing Networks Using AOM-based Ultrafast Pulse Shaping

High-ratio (10 5 ) direct Electro-optical data compression using AOM-based ultrafast pulse shaping at 1550 nm has been demonstrated for massive accessing network applications. Based on this technology, an optimal interface between high speed optical network backbones and low speed electronic accessing network is proposed with the potential of massive accessing, low cost, and high throughput.
