Reshock and release behavior of beryllium

Reshock and release wave profile measurements in beryllium over the stress region 6−35 GPa have indicated no evidence of an hcp‐bcc phase transitin as previously suspected. The present measurements show that the yield strength of the materials is 1.8 GPa at 34 GPa, a substantial increase from the ambient value of 0.3 GPa.
