The effect of IPv4 to IPv6 transition and the iDNS on the VoIP quality of service over the next generation IP-Based networks

IPv6 solves many of the problems caused by the very successful adaptation of IPv4. IPv6 introduces a host of new features such as larger address space, efficient and extensible IP datagram, efficient route computations and aggregation, improved host and router discovery, new stateless and stateful address auto configuration, finally matching the required security for VoIP datagrams. Unfortunately, most hardware and software that are currently available are tied to IPv4 address structure. Fortunately, the whole Internet is not expected to upgrade to Ipv6 any time soon. It will take some time before a complete transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is made. During the transition
