Millimeter wave three dimensions scanning apparatus and scanning method using the same

PURPOSE: A millimeter wave 3D scanning device and a method are provided to transfer a scanning unit to be closed to or away from the object, thereby efficiently preventing a scanning sensitivity degradation caused by a long distance between a surface of an object and a scanning unit. CONSTITUTION: A millimeter wave 3D scanning device comprises a first linear guide(100), a second linear guide(200), a scanning rod(300), a first driving device, a second driving device, a third driving device(400), a scanning unit(500), and a controlling unit. The first linear guide and second linear guide are installed perpendicular to a supporting surface, thereby forming a 2D coordinate system. The scanning rod is transferred back and forth along a longitudinal direction of the second linear guide and vertically installed in the lower part of the second linear guide to be rotated. The first driving device transfers the second linear guide back and forth with respect to the first linear guide. The second driving device transfers the scanning rod back and forth with respect to the second linear guide. The third driving device rotates the scanning rod with respect to the second linear guide. The scanning unit is installed in the scanning rod and generates distance information by transmitting millimeter waves to the object and receiving. The controlling unit calculates 3D image information of the object.
