SOME THOUGHTS ON BEHALF OF THE CONSUMER

From its beginning the motor car has become an increasingly integral part of every day life and motorists have so far accepted the technology offered, both in their cars and in the fuel needed to run them. This acceptance must not be taken for granted. It is conditional on the technology being subservient to the interests of the consumer and not the other way round. If this should change with new technology, particularly with the increasing use of electronics, the acceptance could be replaced by resistance. The motor and oil industries must be vigilant in guarding against this. (A) For the covering abstract see IRRD 860841.
