Multimedia from the Perspectives of Psychology

The present report discusses multimedia technology from the perspective of theories and models in psychology. It describes multimedia as the result of new theories about the capabilities of man and as the result of new visions about the role of computers. It discusses the fundamentals of multimedia and relates it to new trends in perceptual, cognitive and social psychology. In addition some basic interface problems in current implementations are discussed.
