Seamless amalgamation of full duplex 2.5Gbps wireless and 10Gbps wired optical access networks based on QAM-OFDM technology

We propose a seamless amalgamation full duplex optical access networks that can provide both 2.5Gbps 16QAM-OFDM wireless and 10Gbps 4QAM-OFDM wired downstream access services for users. A nested Mach-Zehnder module is utilized to realize this integration architecture. And full duplex communication is achieved through using wavelength reuse technique that can carry 2.5Gbps upstream service without any additional optical sources in ONUs. With 20km standard SMF transmission simulation, a dispersion dependent amplitude attenuation is discovered in wireless service part. Using NZ-DSF instead, reliable SER values are obtained and both downstream and upstream services transmission are realized stably.
