The total profile of gear is one of the important factors that influence the stability of gear.It will be changed when its work and ambient temperature deviates from the standard temperature.Using a four-dimensioned universal installation with high precision that can control and measure temperature,an experiment program is designde in particular condition to measure the total profile error changed with temperature.The result of analytical error is prowed that this method is practicable and its precision is reliable.The conclusion is that the total profile error is increased when the variation of temperature rises
