Real beam radar imaging based on adaptive Lucy-Richardson algorithm

Angular resolution is the key parameter of radar. Conventional means of increasing angular resolution is dependent on the size of the antenna aperture or synthetic aperture processing. This paper proposes an adaptive Lucy-Richardson algorithm based on iteration to achieve angular super-resolution and analyze convergence rate and performance of super-resolution of the adaptive algorithm. Simulation result shows that the algorithm can efficiently attenuate the effect of antenna pattern convolution, restore the scatterers distribution form the echo and enhance the angular resolution; real data processing using adaptive LR algorithm enhance the angular resolution is about an order over real aperture, also demonstrates that highly improve angular resolution and achieve angular super-resolution.
