Dynamic properties of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers with improved polarization stability

We describe dynamic properties of rectangular etched post vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers designed for increased polarization stability. These lasers show polarization extinction ratios higher than 20 dB in CW and under high-speed large signal modulation. The high degree of polarization stability allows for error-free transmission in polarization selective free space optical links.
