Analysis and Optimisation of Structural Dynamics of Machine Tools by a Synthesis of Dynamic Rigidity Program System

A program system was developed for computing the static and dynamic characteristics of machine structures and helping the designer to pursue the optimum design with respect to those characteristics. The program system is new in that it combines the advantages of the synthetic technique of the receptance program system and the finite element modelling technique of the machine substructures. The analytical principles of the program system and an example on a practical structure are described.
