Rate of plasma protein normalization after parturition and withdrawal of oral contraceptives.

The increased levels of α1-antitrypsin, TBG, cerculoplasmin, plasminogen, transferrin, hemopexin, β1C-globulin and β-lipoprotein found on use of contra ceptive estrogens or in pregnancy are normalized within 6 weeks of delivery and 4 weeks of withdrawal of the oral contraceptives. The changes of the ceruloplasmin and α1-antitrypsin do not run parallel to those other acute phase reactants in the early puerperal period.
