Modeling’s approaches for Stick-Slip phenomena in drilling

Abstract In this article, we compare different kinds of modeling for some deformable mechanical devices. We give a physical analogy that allow us to well-understand the differences between finite and infinite dimensional systems. In order to display the consequences of simplifying model, we consider the example of Stick-Slip phenomena in drilling system.
