Small signal analysis and control design of active clamp forward converter with center tapped secondary

This paper presents the dynamic small signal model for the active clamp forward converter which employs active clamp circuit to reset the transformer core and center tapped rectifier at the secondary side for full wave rectification. The state space averaging technique is used to derive the small signal model and graphical loop gain method is used to design the feedback compensation and analyze the closed loop performance of the converter. An extensive power stage dynamic and design guidelines for feedback compensator in voltage loop is established and presented in the paper.
