Design of Portable Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulator Based on Microcontroller

This paper introduces a portable programmable transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulator, which provides bipolar pulse stimulation current output. The stimulator powered by mobile can work normally under the control of mobile application. It has the features of flexible and adjustable stimulus parameters, low power consumption and small size. Based on MCU C8051F330 as the controller, the percutaneous vagus nerve stimulator uses Bluetooth wireless communication technology to communicate with smart phones, providing waveform output with current strength of 0–12mA and frequency of 1Hz-100Hz. Experiments show that the percutaneous vagus stimulator can work normally under the control of mobile phone.
