Laser diode comb spectrum amplification preserving low RIN for high-speed modulation

Quantum dot-based diode comb lasers enable a single multi-channel-laser source for short-reach, high-speed WDM interconnects. In this paper, we demonstrated a quantum dot SOA with 18dB gain to compensate transmitter loss from comb channel de-multiplexing and other losses without adding noise.
