To enhance the readablity, improve the structure and facilitate the sharing of digtial imaging and coummunications in medical (DICOM) files, this paper proposed XML Schemas represention for DICOM data model . Because XML Schema can describe the type of XML document, typically express in terms of constraints on the structure and content of documents of that type, above and beyond the basic syntactical constraints imposed by XML itself,it was used to describe the new data model. Meanwhile such XML Schemas can be used in the creation and validation of the XML-encoded DICOM files which acting as a standard for data transmission ans sharing on the web. To develop the new data model, we started with describing data type, data element defined in DICOM standard, then described module, information entity(IE),information object definition(IOD) and the structure of these objects. Compare to the data model defined in DICOM,the new one possesses better structure without loss of related information.
