Causal Analysis on the Resent Spatio-temporal Changes of the Shorelines in Binhai New Area, Bohai Bay

Shoreline of the Binhai New Area have changed quickly in the past ten years. To detect its spatio-temporal changes and causation,a set of remote sensing images and correlative historical documents were collected and the shoreline information were chosen out and interpreted. Results show that the shoreline was in a continuous siltation and extension process in principle, especially since 2007.The max extension, about 13.7 km,existed in the Haibin Bathing Place to the Yongding New River estuary shoreline sector. The Dashengtang Village to the Jian River estuary shoreline sector was eroded remarkably, which was about 10 m/a.It was the uppermost factor for the shoreline extension that people have enhanced the mudflat exploitation, such as seaport construction and land reclamation.More anti-erosion measurements should be given to those erosion-prone sectors, which were the Dashengtang Village to Jian River estuary shoreline sector and the Qikou River estuary to Qingjinghuang Channel shoreline sector.
