On lossless transfer functions and orthogonal realizations

In this paper, a simple and direct algebraic proof is given to show that a rational m \times n (m \geq n) lossless transfer function has an orthogonal realization. The proof exploits two interesting properties of the impulse response of a lossless transfer function.
