DETECTION OF DECAY IN TREES

Summary A number of devices are available for the detection and assessment of decay and other internal defects in trees. A brief description of the principles of these devices is provided, together with a discussion of their efficacy and the diagnostic value of the information that they provide. This information is based partly on a current research project for the evaluation of some of the devices.
