REGIOSELECTIVE HYDROXYLATION OF β-MYRCENE USING Pd(II) COMPLEXES

O-nucleophiles, RO−(R = H, Et, i-Pr, and Ac) were introduced regioselectively into the terminal position of β-myrcene to form linear π-allylpalladium complexes, 2 using HMPA as solvent. Decomposition of 2a gave nerol and citral selectively.
