Handling Camera Anchors in Distributed Surveillance Systems

Collaborative information processing in camera (imaging sensors) networks is becoming a very attractive field of research. In this PhD thesis, the camera network processing objective is to detect and track a moving object in hostile environments. One can also mention the use of camera networks for the monitoring of the houses for safety or the house automation, the air and transport control in general, intelligent alarms for the prevention of the natural disasters and in military applications. With such systems, the automatic control of an event or an incident rests on the reliability of the network for an efficient and robust decision-making. The PhD candidate will be in charge of developing and implementing distributed detection and tracking techniques in a camera network. A part of the PhD thesis will be devoted to the algorithm implementation on hardware platforms.
